About Ritsuko Moore

Ritsuko was born and raised in Japan. When she was young girl, she discovered and was fascinated by the beauty of the traditional Japanese ceramics. In 1987, she started studying ceramics in Tokyo Japan, and kept learning in London, Chicago, and San Francisco. At present she works and teaches at her studio in Summit NJ. Her speciality is Japanese tableware, and some of her pieces have been awarded at ceramic competitions, also she has had gallery shows in New York and New Jersey. Currently she produces table wares for Japanese restaurants (Michelin Star) and tea ceremony implements, and teaches classes in her and local studio.

日本で生まれ育ち、幼い頃に日本の陶磁器の美に魅了され陶芸を志す。1987年に東京で陶芸を習い始め、その後ロンドン、シカゴ、サンフランシスコ各地で学び続ける。現在はニュージャージー州サミットの自宅スタジオで作陶と教室を行う。和食器を中心に作成し、陶芸展への入選作品も手がけ、NY.やNJのギャラリーにも出展。最近は茶道具や有名レストランへの食器プロデュースもしている。
